So, I'm thinking of changing my username- not here, obviously, but on other sites. Art sites, specifically. I like the screen name Akuwaneko and I think it reflects my weird habits (since I spelled "aqua" a-k-u-w-a) and it uses the nickname that I was given by the first really close group of friends I've ever had. But, the whole Japanese screen name thing was awesome when I was 13, but six years later it just seems silly. I don't want to be called Neko anymore. I mean, I'm totally OK with my close friends continuing to call me that for old time's sake, but there are SO MANY nekos out there! I mean, google the word "neko" sometime and see how many freaking hits you get! It's crazy! So I want to drop the "neko" completely.

I do want to keep the "Akuwa" because that's just crazy-perfect for me. It's not Japanese, but it sounds cute and it's really just a misspelling of another word anyway, so why not? But, I don't want the name to be JUST Akuwa, because "aku wa..." is a Japanese phrase and people use it. It's not that unique. I might just drop the W and spell it "Akua" or drop the U and spell it "Akwa", I'm not sure yet. I may also just use "Aka" since that's the signature I use and it's gotta' make sense somehow.

But I've got to get the cat thing in there somewhere. I mean, I can't be anything but a cat guys, and I've got to let the world KNOW dammit!
